Workshop: Touching the Father’s Heart: Songwriting

Tom Lundell has been a Christian for 36 years and has had the privilege of leading worship since 1994. He wrote his first praise and worship song in 1995. Tom published his first single “First Fruits” in 2017 with the help of Imua and Tiffa Garza and the support of many friends and family. Later that year he had the chance to share his life story with Danny Yamashiro on “The Good Life” radio program. Tom is blessed to be married to his lovely wife of 27 years, Kristi and together they have five children ages 10-22. In addition to worship leading, Tom also spent 13 years homeschooling his children and taught them and many other students about sharing the gift of music. He currently serves on the worship team of Grace Honolulu church that meets at Kahala elementary. One of his fondest memories was leading a group of over 8,000 worshippers during a mission’s trip to Guatemala with only an ukulele or “guitarita” as it was nicknamed. Tom’s goal every time he participates in worship is to “disappear” and have all hearts and eyes fixed on worshipping the Father in Spirit and Truth. One of his favorite scriptures is Psalm 34:1. It declares, “I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise will always be on my lips.”
